The Tetley presented artist Samra Mayanja in conversation with Sepake Angiama, Artistic Director of iniva. The discussion considered how artists and institutions make space for uncertainty, reflection and forms of knowledge that are not always immediately visible.
The conversation explored The Living and the Stale, Mayanja’s first major solo exhibition, presented at The Tetley from 10 February to 4 June 2023. The exhibition focused on ideas of lostness and interiority through an arrangement of objects, images and spatial relationships.
