Exhibition overview

A different lens on identity

Tinted Pinc was a collaboration between the gallery and students from Pinc College, a specialist creative education provider for young people aged 16–25. The exhibition brought together work by neurodivergent student artists based across Yorkshire.

The artists explored identity and the ways personal experience can shape how the world is understood. Their practices offered a broad and varied account of neurodivergent life, moving beyond simplified narratives about difficulty or difference.

Across the exhibition, drawing and other creative approaches formed a shared space for observation, communication and self-definition. The resulting presentation emphasised the individuality of each artist while showing the value of working collectively.

About Pinc College

Pinc College provides creative study pathways and support for neurodivergent young people. Its Leeds campus was based within the gallery building, creating a setting where learning, artistic development and public presentation could meet.

This record preserves the exhibition’s central themes without reproducing source interviews or presenting editorial interpretation as direct testimony.

Programme context

Learning through creative practice

The exhibition connected student development with a public-facing presentation of artwork. It demonstrated how cultural spaces can support experimentation, peer exchange and more expansive conversations about who gets to make and show art.

The resource presents this context as part of the wider history of exhibitions and artist development associated with the building.
